Fire Chief for the Village of Islamorada, a district that continuously supports and works with Thermal Custom Packaging shares real-life scenarios where the MedShield has been crucial to success.
What is it?
MedShield cases are carrying cases for all of the necessary items used by first responders on the scene.
Designed by doctors, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians, the MedShield customized medical cases are waterproof, dustproof, and made to withstand the harsh conditions encountered in the field. MedShield medical cases come in medium and large sizes and have reconfigurable machine-washable padded dividers or optional modular insert cases.
How is it being used in Islamorada?
“For us, we are always dealing with inclement weather, oftentimes we are out on boats with the Coast Guard or another waterborne agency,”
“All of our stuff stays protected, which would otherwise be destroyed if not in a MedShield” MedShield’s one goal is to transport life-saving supplies, rain or shine. The first department utilizes it for their pediatric calls, a med box, an airway box, and one for trauma. “So obviously the different boxes have different functions for what we need immediately on the scene to stabilize the affected person enough to get them back to the ambulance to continue treatment and hopeful transport to the nearest facility.”
One of the many amenities that comes with buying a MedShield is the ability to have it customized. “The fact that Cliff [Dr. Glade, Founder of TCP] will customize products to fit our needs, makes it a superior product,” said The Fire Chief.
MedShield medical cases come in medium and large sizes and have reconfigurable machine-washable padded dividers or optional modular insert cases. Some of the features that come with every case include a lid organizer, glow-in-the-dark components, divider inserts, and detachable hinges. The MedSheilds are Temperature resistant from -30 up to +80 degrees centigrade, certified with STANAG 4280, DEF STAN 81-41, and ATA 300, strong, dust-proof, waterproof (IP67 certified), have an automatic air pressure compensation valve, and more.
Real-Life Applications
Our customers use MedShield for a variety of reasons, the most popular being a staple in any ambulance or emergency vehicle that will arrive on the scene. The Fire Chief describes many scenarios where the case is utilized, but said something interesting that TCP hasn’t thought of, “It doubles for elderly patients’ steps to get them where we need them to get, whether it’s up or down,” he said. Having that extra step for patients in need and knowing the MedShield will hold up is exactly why TCP made it.
